COMETS SWEEP MARKSMEN IN THREE-MATCH SHOWDOWN

The St. Thomas Comets delivered a commanding performance this week, defeating the St. Mark's Marksmen in all three grade-level volleyball contests and completing an impressive program-wide sweep.

6th Grade Opens with Statement Win

The evening began with the sixth grade Comets setting the tone in a two-set victory, 15-18 and 15-15.

In the opening set, 5th grader Julea Le provided the spark, tallying eight points from the service line to pace the Comets’ offense. Her steady serving created early momentum and kept the Marksmen on the defensive.

The second set saw Jo Campbell take control. Campbell delivered eight service points of her own, helping secure the match and give St. Thomas its first win of the night.

7th Grade Responds with Resilience

The 7th grade contest proved to be the most tightly contested matchup of the evening. After falling 25-23 in a competitive first set, the Comets regrouped with composure.

Behind strong serving and improved defensive play, St. Thomas captured the second set 25-21. Sixth grader Jo Campbell once again made her presence felt, contributing eight critical service points during the comeback effort.

The decisive third set demonstrated the Comets’ depth and unity. In a dominant 25-13 finish, every Comet recorded at least one service point, reflecting a balanced and collective team performance to clinch the match.

8th Grade Seals the Sweep

The 8th grade Comets completed the sweep in convincing fashion, earning straight-set victories of 25-9 and 25-13.

Juliana Hudson led the charge in the first set with six service points, helping St. Thomas build an early and insurmountable lead. In the second set, Zoe Torres Ravelo delivered a standout performance from the service line, recording 10 service points to close out the match and secure the clean sweep for the Comets program.
